GLS operates and maintains complex WAN backbone and cabling supporting voice data, and video requirements for multiple US Government agencies throughout Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Technical staff install, test, and repair inside and outside cable plant for data, voice and video services. GLS provides PRAWS engineering support services to operate and maintain thirty-three (33) communication sites in the region. In addition GLS has: (1) added new customer sites to PRAWS in the Caribbean Area, (2) provided necessary material and/or leases to support new sites, and (3) refurbished existing sites with new information technology (IT) material/equipment. Severe weather conditions present technical challenges and require long term commitment to excellence in technical craft. GLS continues to:

• Provide data and voice cabling using industry standard components and configurations.
• Fully test and document systems and enhancements.
• Provide second level technical support for all systems.
• Participate in planning and training as augmentation of client staff.
• Ensure that all systems operate as designed.
